Anna M. Tucker


Anna M. Tucker, age 83, of North Platte, died August 20, 2012 at Linden Court surrounded by her family. She was born on October 16, 1928 in North Platte to Nickolas and Mary (Karn) Walz.
Anna grew up between North Platte and Stapleton and graduated from St. Patrick’s High School in 1946. After graduation, Anna completed her Lab Technical training in Chicago. On August 8, 1953, she married Robert Tucker in North Platte. The couple made their home in North Platte where Anna was a Lab Technician at Internal Medicine until she retired.
Anna was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, was president of Altar Society at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, a member of School Board at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Ann enjoyed her weekly rosary group for many years. She and Lillian Hare ran the kitchen at the County Fair for several years.
Survivors include her husband, Robert of North Platte; six children, Geri (Jerry) Hepp of Lincoln, Monsignor Robert Tucker of Lincoln, Mary (Gary) Kuehl of Littleton, CO, John (Donna) Tucker of Lincoln, Jim (Linda) Tucker of Lincoln, and Carol (Bill) Zakavec of Arvada, CO; 14 grandchildren, Mike, Chuck, and Johnny Mann, Kristin & Kimberly Kuehl, Adam & Jack Tucker, Alana Tucker, Katelyn Tucker, Kylie Tucker, Lynsey Tucker, Sara Tucker, and Joshua and Jenna Zakavec; and numerous other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Hildegarde Walz, an infant brother; and nephew, Michael Walz. Memorials may be established to St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, North Platte Catholic School Endowment or the Catholic Social Services. Rosary will be recited 7 p.m. Monday August 27, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday August 28, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church.
Burial will be at Fort McPherson National Cemetery near Maxwell. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Friday, noon until 6:00 Saturday and Sunday and 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. Monday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
