MaKenna DiAnne Walters, age 8, of North Platte, passed away August 19, 2012 at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas. MaKenna was born August 2, 2004 in North Platte to Steven and Jill Hoffman Walters. She was a first grader at Hall School. MaKenna was an independent, feisty, strong little girl with a stubborn streak. She loved soccer and school and enjoyed writing. After spending time in the hospital she had decided she wanted to become a nurse at “her” Omaha Children’s Hospital. MaKenna loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandparents. She loved shoes and would wear anyone’s!
Survivors include her parents, Steven and Jill Walters of North Platte; brother, Mitchell Walters of North Platte; grandparents, Michael and Beverly Gardner, Richard and Ruth Hoffman and Eldon and Janice Walters all of North Platte; great-grandparents, Richard and Mildred Hoffman of Grand Island and Betty Gardner of North Platte; godparents, Michael and Marcie Morrell of North Platte; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Floyd and Alice Barnes, Wayne and Maxine Goodenberger, James Gardner and John and Audra Walters.

Services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012 at the Bethel Evangelical Free Church with the Reverend Dan Reimer officiating. Burial will be in Floral Lawns Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. Thursday and 9:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. Friday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home and from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. at the Bethel Evangelical Free Church on Friday.
