NORTH PLATTE, Neb- Once you’re on the radar it’s easy to get caught, even more if you don’t stay low. Officers from North Platte Police Department arrested 26-year-old Sophia Boe on August 28th but events leading to arrest began over a month ago. Here’s how it went down.
On July 16th around 6PM an Officer from the NPPD responded to West 9th street on a report of an uncontrollable juvenile. The minors guardian claimed their “juvenile” refused to come home, and was possibly using illicit drugs. Investigation by officers determined that the juvenile had used illicit drugs, a search warrant was obtained to find the source of the drugs.
A release from Officer Rodney Brown says two suspects were identified as 21-year-old Dustin Dowhower and 26-year old Sophia Boe. A search warrant was obtained and utilized at the Prairie Townhouse Apartments, at that time Dowhower was arrested for Possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver, also a Legend Drug Violation. However Boe was not present and an arrest warrant was issued.
A month later on August 16th at about 3:30 in the morning Officers from the NPPD responded to Kwik-Stop on E 4th Street, over the report of a juvenile being assaulted. Officers found out the assault happened near the Poplar Street Viaduct shortly before the complaint. After a talk with the victim the Officer learned that Sophia Boe had struck the juvenile many times, took their cell phone, and threatened them. Officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Boe for Tampering with a Witness, Assault – 3rd Degree and Robbery. Boe was not found at the time.
On August 28th at about 7:30 AM an Officer from the NPPD responded to the Kwik-Stop at 902 North Jeffers after a report was made on two shop lifters. The employees luckily knew who the suspects were, Sophia Boe and a male suspect named Seth Jackson. The two had stolen grocery items, then left the area. Investigation determined there was probable cause to arrest Boe and Jackson for Theft by Shoplifting.
Officers spent a good part of the day searching for Boe and Jackson. At this point Boe was wanted for robbery, assault, tampering with a witness incident and multiple drug charges on-top of shoplifting.
Jackson was found and arrested for 2nd Offense Shop lifting, Assault 3rd degree, then booked in Lincoln County Detention Center. The release from Officer Brown says “The assault charge came as a result of a disturbance complaint Officers responded to during the search for the suspects in the 600 block of East 12th. Following an investigation at that location Officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Jackson for Assault 3rd Degree and Boe for Criminal Mischief.“
Finally, Boe was successfully found hiding at a home in the 2600 block of Anna. She was taken into custody and jailed in the Lincoln County Detention Center for Possession of Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver (Meth), Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Legend Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Tampering with a Witness, Robbery, Assault 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief, and Theft by Shoplifting.
