Lowell E. “Butch” Pyzer, Jr. age 54, of North Platte passed away September 4, 2012 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. He was born November 27, 1957 in North Platte to Lowell E. “Pete” and Lela June Meyer Pyzer Sr. Butch graduated from McPherson County High School in 1976. He worked at various jobs before finding his passion, first becoming a volunteer firefighter in 1981 for the North Platte Fire Department, then a career Firefighter beginning in 1986. On May 24, 1991 he married Judy Lee Abel in Deadwood, SD. He retired after 25 years on the North Platte Fire Department in February 2011.
Butch was a member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, Pheasants Forever, Local 831 Firefighters Union, and a member of the Lincoln County Bass Masters.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and NASCAR. He coached softball and baseball. Butch was an avid Husker Fan. He was really looking forward to the first Husker game of this year. He loved being with family, especially the 4th of July cook out.
Survivors include his wife, Judy of North Platte; daughter, Brandi Pyzer of North Platte; son, Jacob Pyzer of North Platte; parents; Pete and Lela Pyzer of Tryon, NE; brothers, Lynn (Tina) Pyzer and Layne (Marie) Pyzer all of North Platte; sisters-in-law, Phyllis (Steve) Johnson and Nancy (Eddy) Morrell all of North Platte; brother-in-law, Mike (Pam)Abel of North Platte; nieces and nephews, McKenzie and Tel Pyzer, Amber Webster, Jesse Johnson, Kayle Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Justin Morrell, Joe (Amanda) Morrell, Renee Morrell all of North Platte and Jeramie Abel of Manhattan, Ks; numerous great nieces and nephews; and his firefighter family.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Lauri Ann Pyzer; and his mother and father-in-law, George and Alberta Abel.

Memorial Services will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2012 at the First Lutheran Church with the Reverend Frank Fitch officiating. Inurnment will follow at Plainview Cemetery. Visitation will be noon until 9:00 p.m. today and from 9:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. Thursday at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
