Violet Ruth (Nordt) Fabik died on September 7, 2012, at the age of 92. She was living in North Platte NE, to be near to her son, Craig Fabik, and his family. Vi was best known as an artist, specializing in acrylic and watercolor paintings. In 1973, she began developing her technique in the field of miniature paintings. These tiny works (ranging in size from 3/4” X 1” to 3” X 4”) displayed a serious attention to fine detail that became the hallmark of her work. She won awards for her work in shows across the country. Violet was predeceased by her husband, Voris Fabik, who passed away in May of 1993; and her brother, Gary Nordt, who died November, 2011. She is survived by her daughter, Dawn Fabik and son-in-law John D’Atri of Hebron, CT; son, Craig Fabik and daughter-in-law Nancy Fabik of North Platte, NE; grandchildren, Jeffrey and Stephanie Parade D’Atri, Jessica D’Atri, and Alyssa Fabik; brother-in-law Earl Fabik; sister-in-law, Wanda Nordt; and her nieces and nephews, Kelly, Russell, Christy, Annette and Bryan. Violet’s family would like to thank the staff of Linden Estates and Linden Court, including the Hospice personnel for their support and for their loving care of their mother in her last years.
