In celebration of the Union Pacific Railroad and the Union Pacific’s 150th anniversary, Rail Fest 2012 is bound to pack a punch.
Secretary of State John Gale and his wife Carol plan to participate in various events this year. Gale’s family has a long history of connections with the Union Pacific Railroad and was asked to share his remarks at Rail Fest.
Gale and his wife have been invited to judge the Rail Fest Art Show. Judging begins Friday September 14th at 1:30 at the Art and Gift Gallery, 516 North Dewey St.
Afterwards Secretary Gale will share welcoming words at the opening ceremonies at Cody Park scheduled at 4:00pm-5:00pm.
Gales Grandfather John C. Gale served the Union Pacific for 20 years as Chief Special Agent, then as Assistant to U.P. President William Jeffers, as well as General manager of U.P.R.R. from 1941 through 1945.
