Marion L. Leu, age 102, of Sutherland passed away September 24, 2012 at the Sutherland Care Center. Marion was born July 10, 1910 in Holdredge, NE to Fred and Bess Bliss Briggs. At the age of three, the family moved to Sutherland where she attended grade school and three years of High School. She took her senior year at Denver East High School where she graduated. She attended Denver University for 2 years and was a member of Sigma Kappa Sorority.
On June 27, 1933 Marion married Arch Leu, they had two sons; Douglas and Gifford.
Marion was an excellent cook, seamstress and ranch wife. She was an original member of the Nebraska Cow Bells (Nebraska Cattlewomen) and remained a member until her death. She was nice to everyone, and lived the Christian life. She was a lifelong member of the Sutherland Methodist Church.
Survivors include her son, Gifford of Sutherland; sister, Henrietta; a niece and two nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Frederick; son, Douglas; her parents; and her husband, Arch.

Services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Sutherland Methodist Church with the Reverend Kola Akinnigbagbe officiating. Burial will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Sutherland. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. today at Adams & Swanson Funeral Home.
