It’s been a trying season for the Colorado Rockies, but they were able to walk off the Coors Field diamond for the final time as winners yesterday. The Rockies wrapped up a sweep of the Chicago Cubs with a 7-5 triumph. Jordan Pacheco’s three-run homer in the first inning gave the Rockies a lead they would never relinquish. DJ LeMaiheu added a two-run dinger in the second, and Chris Nelson and Matt McBride also drove in runs. Jhoulys Chacin earned the win for the Rockies on the mound, pitching the first five innings. Rafael Betancourt came in to snuff out a Cub rally in the ninth inning for the save. With 62 wins and six games left in the season, the Rockies need just one win in this upcoming road trip to avoid the franchise’s first 100-loss season. The road trip begins Friday with the first of three games in Los Angeles against the Dodgers. First pitch is set for 9:10.
