A 27-year-old southeast Nebraska man has been accused of beating a woman nearly every day for four months.
Lincoln police spokeswoman Katie Flood says Matthew Oday, of Firth, was arrested Wednesday morning in Lincoln.
Officers had been looking for him since Friday, after an incident at a Lincoln grocery store. Flood says Oday had left the store, but officers spoke with a woman who had been with him. Flood says the woman had bruises on her body, her wrists and ankles were swollen, and patches of her hair were missing.
Flood says the injuries were “consistent with almost daily abuse over the last four months.”
A Lancaster County jailer said Oday remained in custody on Friday, pending $50,000 bail. Online court records don’t list the name of his attorney.
