The Tri-City Storm named three captains yesterday. Three-year USHL veteran Brian Ward will wear the captain’s ‘C’, while two-year veterans Heikki Liedes and Tim Bonner will be the alternate captains. Head coach and general manager Josh Hauge says Ward is the perfect player to wear the ‘C’. Ward says he’s ready to meet the leadership challenge that awaits him. “I’m just excited; it feels good,” Ward said. “I’m just trying to lead by example. I’ve been a little more vocal the past couple weeks and I’m just trying to step up and take the team in the right direction.” The Storm are 1-3-1 on the season thus far. They host Omaha at the Viareo Events Center in Kearney this Friday and Saturday night.
