Husker senior running back Rex Burkhead did not practice for the third straight day, and it appears unlikely that he will play Saturday when the Huskers visit Michigan State. Burkhead hasn’t practiced since re-injuring his left knee in the win at Northwestern two Saturdays ago. If Burkhead can not go, Ameer Abdullah would make his second straight start. If Abdullah cracked the century mark in rushing yards against the Spartans, he’d be the first Husker running back since 1994 to rush for over 100 yards in his first four career starts.
