Soup Supper Planned For NP Teacher Caught In Explosion

The North Platte Jaycees, an organization of individuals that focus on helping the community, will host a soup supper fundraiser for a North Platte teacher/mother, Kendra Burkholder, who was injured from a gas propane tank explosion in July of 2012. The fundraiser is scheduled for Sunday, November 4th at the North Platte Eagles Club.

The Soup Supper fundraiser was organized by Chapter President of North Platte Jaycees, Linda Shea and Jaycees member, Shelley Shore, when a friend of Burkholder reached out to Shea asking for a helping hand.  “I’ve personally known Kendra for seven years,” explained Shore, “I just know that the person that she is, she would do it in a heart-beat for somebody she knew.” Burkholder is much liked by many in the community and the Jaycees hope to raise a significant amount of funds to help with expensive hospital costs.

The Jaycees are looking for at least 20 soup teams to participate in the Soup Supper. A $25 entry fee is required for all soup teams and tickets cost $6 for adults, $4 for children 12-3 and children younger than 3 are no cost. All proceeds will give aid to Kendra Burkholder.
