Audrey W. Logan, 101, of North Platte, died Nov. 3, 2012 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. She was born on July 9, 1911, in Alma, to Karl J “Chuck” and Olive O. (Johnson) Rodeman.
Audrey attended school in Hemingford. On March 8, 1928, she married Samuel Raymond Logan in Alliance. Audrey married William August Wendt in 1931 and the couple lived in LaGrange, Wyo. She later remarried Samuel Logan, who preceded her in death in 1975. Audrey lived in Sterling, Colo. and Kimball before going back to LaGrange for 40 years. Later in life, she had moved to Torrington, Wyo., and then to North Platte to be closer to family.
Survivors include two sons, David Duane (Shirley) Wendt of Benson, Ariz., and Sam T. (Kathie) Logan of Tuscon, Ariz.; two daughters, Patricia Hammerschmidt of Carson, Calif., and Judy (Lawrence) Pierce of Sutherland; 24 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great grandchildren and two great-great-great granddaughters. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Sam, a daughter and son in law Betty and Tom Gregoire; five brothers, Daniel, David, Gaylord, Dick, and Jim Rodeman; a sister Margaret Marue; and a grandson James Joseph Farace. Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday Nov. 8, 2012, at Adams & Swanson Chapel. Burial will be at the Paxton Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 6, and Wednesday, Nov. 7, from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Adams & Swanson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
