A plane crash is under investigation which took place at the Gothenburg airport on Sunday morning.

According to the Associated Press, 55-year-old James Ross, of North Platte, died in the crash. Ross was a student pilot as well as the Director of information systems for the city of North Platte.

The small plane was found upside-down nearly fifty-yards from the grass runway by rescue workers. Authorities say Ross died at the scene.

An autopsy will be performed. Ross was alone in the plane before the accident.
