Maher Honored by Big Ten For Record Sixth Time

Husker senior kicker Brett Maher has set a new standard for special teams players in the Big Ten Conference. Maher was named the Big Ten’s Special Teams Player of the Week for a record-setting sixth time after his performance in Saturday’s win over Penn State. He banged home three field goal attempts and averaged 41 yards per punt, including a 69-yard punt that set up a safety late in the fourth quarter.
