On November 28th, 2012, Deputies were asked to respond to Front Street near Homestead Road. It was reported that an injury accident had occurred at that location.
An investigation revealed an eastbound Schaben Sanitation truck driven by 56 year old Laurence R. Naranjo lost a rolled up tarp and pole from the top of the truck. The pole and rolled up tarp struck 42 year old Anthony Vigil’s westbound vehicle in the driver’s windshield passing through the cab, striking Mr. Vigil.
Mr. Vigil’s injuries were not life threatening, he was transported to Great Plains Regional Medical Center for treatment. Mr. Naranjo was not injured.
