Earl L. Pittman, age 80 of North Platte, passed away November 28, 2012 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center. Earl was born September 21, 1932 in North Platte to Ai Earl and Mabel Pittman.
Earl graduated from North Platte High School in 1951. He served in the Nebraska National Guard from 1949 to 1951. He served in the US Air Force during the Korean War from 1951 to 1955.
Earl married Dolores Kaelber in 1953 in Harlingen, TX. The couple had three children.
Earl liked to hunt, fish, golf and play Texas hold-em. Earl also worked for the Nebraska Dept. of Roads as a District Superintendent. He retired from that position in 1995.
Earl is survived by his children Rick (Deb) Pittman, Christy Pittman and Sherry (Scott) French, all of North Platte; five grandchildren Brandon, Jace (Brenda), and Kade Pittman, and Sarah and Jacob French; one great grandchild Ender Michael Pittman; and two sisters Darlene Gutherie and Janice (Gary) Richey.
Earl was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Dolores and a brother Sam Pittman.
A memorial has been established to the North Platte Opportunity Center or may be made in his name and online condolences may be made at www.adamsswanson.com. Cremation was chosen and a private family inurnment will be at Ft. McPherson at a later date. Those wishing to do so can sign the register book 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday, December 3rd through 7th. A gathering of friends and family will take place on Saturday December 8, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Adams and Swanson Funeral Home which is in charge of arrangements.
