(North Platte, NE) – It’s that time of year. Children are making their wish lists, and hoping for that special toy under the tree. Unfortunately, there are many children in our community who won’t find any toys waiting for them this holiday season.
Maurices wants to do its part to change that. The fashion retailer will collect toys for disadvantaged children at its Platte River Mall location.
All new, unwrapped toys collected from Dec.1,2012 to Dec. 20,2012 at Maurices, 1000 South Dewey St., will be distributed to local families by Rape and Domestic Abuse Center. Everyone who makes a donation will receive a coupon for 20 percent off a regular-priced item at Maurices.
“We want to share the joys of the season with the families in our community who are struggling this year,” said Maurices Store Manager Wendy Engleman.
“We’re encouraging donations for children of all ages,” said Engleman. “Sometimes tweens and teens are overlooked. Things like board games, books, fragrances, jewelry and accessories make great gifts for older children.”
