Nebraska junior designated hitter Mike Pritchard was named a preseason second-team All-American by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association. Pritchard earned third-team All-American honors and first-team All-Big Ten honors after his sophomore season, in which he batted .387 and put together a 25-game hitting streak, the third-longest in program history. His .379 average in conference games led the Big Ten. The Huskers open their season on the diamond February 15 at Cal-State Bakersfield.
