A Hershey man, convicted of sexually assaulting a child in 2011, will spend no less than 20 years in prison.
Stephen Fischer, 36, was convicted of 3rd Degree Sexual Assault of a Child on Monday, December 17th in Lincoln County District Court. Fischer was sentenced to no more than 20-30 years in the Nebraska State Penitentiary.
A North Platte man charged with Arson and other charges made a plea deal in exchange for two charges dismissed.
Jason Jones, 32, pleaded no-contest in District Court to Possession of a Controlled Substance (Methamphetamine), a Class 4 Felony, and 2nd Degree Arson, and Class 3 Felony. Jones made a plea deal with the judge in exchange for the dismissal of a Burglary and Theft charge.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 25th and faces a maximum of 24 years in prison.
On August 27th, Jones allegedly caused a garage fire and had taken off, with tools from inside the garage, in a vehicle he reportedly stole, later to be arrested while in possession of the controlled substance.
