A traffic stop for speeding on Interstate 80 in Keith County led to the seizure of 80 lbs. of marijuana and the arrest of a California man.

Just after 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 3, a trooper stopped an eastbound 2013 Ford Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV), for speeding near the Roscoe Exit on I-80. The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. The search led to the seizure of 80 lbs. of marijuana. The marijuana was located in a duffel bag and a car luggage carrier in the passenger/cargo area of the SUV.

The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, Matthew S. Hornsby, 38, Mariposa, Calif., was lodged in the Keith County Jail on a charge of possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
