Jeanette Mollie Schuster, 91, of Hershey, NE died Monday, January 28, 2013, at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte, NE.
Jeanette was born February 9, 1921, at Columbus, NE to Andrew Joseph and Emma Kate Kretmar Carman Nelson. She grew up in the Columbus and Silvercreek, NE area and was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran Church in Columbus. Jeanette attended school in Polk County, NE and moved to North Platte in 1939 with her parents.
On December 24, 1940, Jeanette married Arthur Victor Schuster at Ogallala, NE. They settled on a homestead east of Hershey where they farmed and raised their two children.
Jeanette was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, First Evangelical Lutheran Church and had been a member of Maria Lutheran Church for 30 years before returning to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in 2012. She was also a member of the Platte Valley Woman’s Club for over 50 years.
Survivors include her children, Ernest (Patricia) Schuster and Marilyn (Jim) Harvey, all of Hershey; four grandchildren, Sara Schuster (Brian Lawrence) of Kansas City, MO, Stefani Schuster, of O’Neil, NE, Gina Harvey, of Westminster, CO and Jennifier (Ed) Toribio, of Gibbon, NE; five great-grandchildren, Jimi and Sofija Heintzleman, Natalia and Jakson Toribio and Lily Schuster; her brother, Andrew (Cleo) Nelson,Jr., of Puyallup, WA; several nieces, nephews and other family including Christy Sheets and Bryan Siefford and their families.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; her parents, Andrew, Sr. and Emma Nelson; her brother, Frank Nelson and infant brother, Donald Nelson; and two grandsons, Jak Harvey and Scott Schuster.
Cremation was chosen. A memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013, at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore with JA Welch officiating. Inurnment will follow in the North Platte Cemetery. The memorial book may be signed at odeanchapel.com or from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore. Memorials are suggested to the First Evangelical Lutheran Church. Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
