John Lloyd Johnson, 64, died on Jan. 31, 2013, at the emergency room at the Torrington Community Hospital.
John was born on Dec. 13, 1948, at Easton, Pa. He grew up and attended school at Phillipsburg, N.J. He then worked for Binney & Smith, the “Crayola” company, in Easton. In 1979, John married Betty Frosh at Casper, Wyo. He was a heavy equipment operator in the mining industry for several years. John volunteered for hospice work in North Platte and in 2006 the couple moved to Torrington, Wyo., where John volunteered at Special Touch at the Community Hospital and also for Lifeline in Torrington.
John enjoyed carpenter work and he had a handyman business. He loved to go to auctions and he enjoyed working with computers. John also liked fishing and cooking.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant daughter; his Grammy Johnson; and an aunt, Diane De La Rosa.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, of Torrington; his son, John Johnson Jr., of Scranton, Pa.; and his sister, Elaine Sabo, of Rock Springs, Wyo.
John was cremated and there are no funeral services planned. Memorials are suggested to either the North Platte Hospice or to the Special Touch Program at the Torrington Community Hospital.
