The Big Ten Conference Administrators Council has approved the request from Nebraska and Iowa to move the 2013 football game between the schools to Friday, Nov. 29 at Memorial Stadium.
“The Big Ten Conference Administrators Council approved the request for the Nebraska-Iowa Heroes Game to remain on the Friday after Thanksgiving in 2013 and 2014,” Nebraska Director of Athletics Shawn Eichorst said. “Playing on the day after Thanksgiving is a great Nebraska football tradition that we look forward to continuing.”
Nebraska and Iowa have met on the Friday after Thanksgiving in both 2011 and 2012, Nebraska’s first two years in the Big Ten Conference. The 2013 game in Lincoln will mark the 24th straight season Nebraska has played on the day after Thanksgiving.
Time and television information for the game will be announced at a later date.
