The Hershey Lady Panthers have won a game at the girls basketball state tournament for the first time. They jumped to an eight-point first-half lead and never trailed in a 53-34 win over St. Patrick’s in round one of the Class C2 state tournament Thursday morning in Lincoln. Daynlee Miller and Brooke Frederick scored 13 points apiece to lead the Lady Panthers. Miller added 10 rebounds and five assists. Shelby Allberry posted a double-double with 14 points and 12 rebounds in the losing effort for the Lady Irish. Hershey moves to 21-4 with the win, while St. Pat’s finishes their season with a 22-4 record.
The Lady Panthers will play Hastings St. Cecilia in the C2 semifinals tomorrow morning at 9 AM at the Pershing Center. You can listen to the game on ESPN Radio 1410, with pregame coverage starting at 8:45.
