Police say they have arrested a 14-year-old student at an Omaha high school after he was found with a handgun on campus.
The Omaha Police Department says the handgun was found on the student Thursday morning at Omaha North High Magnet School.
An officer who was on-duty at the school was initially arresting the student for possession of marijuana. The handgun was found while the officer searched him.
The student was taken to the Douglas County Youth Center and booked for marijuana possession and gun possession on school property.
Authorities have not released the student’s name.
