Bobbie “Bob” Allen Anderson, 80, formerly of North Platte, NE, passed away Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the Hemingford Care Center in Hemingford, NE.

Bob was born November 7, 1932, at Chappell, NE to John Fredrick and Birdie Lily Renquist Anderson. While growing up Bob lived in Chappell, Julesburg, CO and California before moving to the farm south of North Platte, NE where he also attended District 44 School. By the age of 15, he started farming south of North Platte.

On December 10, 1952, Bob married Betty Joyce White at North Platte. They made their home on the farm and adopted their family, Ed, Kathy and Karen. Along with the farm, Bob and Betty also ran a dairy business for 12 years. They later sold the farm and moved to Cathedral City, CA for eight years. In 1992 they moved to Maxwell, NE and Bob moved to North Platte in 2006.

Bob served with the National Guard for 10 years and was an avid bowler.

Survivors include his daughters, Kathy Clang, of North Platte and Karen (Thomas) Hardy, of Gillette, WY; a son, Ed (Janice) Wilson, of Sidney, MT; eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Janet Anderson, of West Covina, CA; and other family.

He was preceded in death by Betty; his parents, John and Birdie Anderson; four brothers, Gerald, Leonard, Dick and John Anderson; two sisters, Lila Neal and Glenice Emery; and a grandson, Bryan Dixon.

Graveside funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2013, in the Wellfleet Cemetery with Gary Smith officiating. Visitation will be 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore. Condolences may also be shared at odeanchapel.com. Memorials are suggested to the North Platte Animal Shelter. Odean Colonial Chapel At C & Sycamore is in charge of arrangements.
