Three men were arrested in North Platte on Sunday for multiple felony drug and weapons charges.
At around 8:15 pm on March 3rd, Officers from the North Platte Police Department responded to a complaint of a disturbance that had previously occurred at the Kwik Stop, located at 702 E. 4th Street. The victim told police that five male subjects in a dark blue Buick with South Dakota plates had made threats towards him and then chased him in their vehicle after the victim drove away.
Around 9:15 pm, Officers located the blue Buick and conducted an investigative stop near North Cottonwood and East 11th Street. Officers identified the driver as Robin Dennis, 29, and two passengers as Aaron Clark, 24, and Keith Phelps, 45.
An Officer then noticed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle which prompted a search. As a result of the search, Officers confiscated approximately $2,500 in cash, small baggies containing suspected Methamphetamine, additional drug paraphernalia and a .45 caliber handgun with ammunition.
All three suspects are convicted felons and denied ownership of the firearm.
Following the investigation, Officers determined there was probable cause to arrest Dennis, Phelps and Clark for Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Deliver, a Class II Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Felon, a Class I Felony, Possession of Firearms and a Controlled Substance, a Class I Felony and Possession of Money and a Controlled Substance, a Class IV Felony.
All three were jailed at the Lincoln County Detention Center and remained in custody Monday morning.
