A former page for Omaha State Senator Scott Lautenbaugh claims he saw a bottle of rum in the Senator’s office in the State Capitol.
The page, Alex Wunrow, says he saw a half-empty bottle of Captain Morgan rum and an open case of beer in Lautenbaugh’s office refrigerator, but admits he never saw him consume the alcohol while on the job.
Lautenbaugh was arrested last week on suspicion of drunken driving. His blood alcohol level was nearly three times the legal limit.
Lautenbaugh admits to having beer in his refrigerator, but claims it was left over from an event. He says he has no recollection of ever seeing any rum.
Nebraska State law prohibits consumption of alcohol on state property unless it’s for ceremonial purposes.
