Driver of Omaha Daycare Van Cited for Child Neglect

child-caerThe driver of an Omaha child care transport van has been cited on suspicion of child neglect for leaving a 4-year-old girl on a van.

The former Little Lambs Day Care employee, a 53-year-old woman, was cited this week. The woman was driving the day care van on February 26 when Haylee Maxson was left alone for hours. The woman and two other employees were fired.

The woman’s case had not appeared on online court records by Wednesday morning.

Haylee’s parents, Monica and James Maxson, are still outraged by what happened, although they did receive an apology from the day care’s owners.

The girl’s parents say they hope the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services will investigate to determine whether the day care should lose its state license.
