A judge has ordered a second competency evaluation for a man accused of killing his girlfriend in the Panhandle.
Judge Derek Weimer granted a defense motion for the second test on 47-year-old Craig Johnson. Johnson is charged with killing 42-year-old April Smith in December 2011 in the home they shared eight miles west of Sidney.
Johnson was found competent after an evaluation last summer, but authorities say he wasn’t completely cooperative. Weimer has ordered Johnson to be fully cooperative for the next evaluation and take all of his prescription medications.
