Broncos Looking to Slash Dumervil’s Salary

Elvis Dumervil may not be a Denver Bronco much longer. The Broncos are looking to restructure the contract of the veteran defensive end as a cost-cutting measure. Dumervil, who is scheduled to make a guaranteed $12 million dollars next season, had 11 sacks and forced six fumbles in 2012. Dumervil’s agent told the Denver Post that his client wants to stay with the Broncos and will negotiate with them to try and come to an amicable solution, but the Broncos may be willing to cut Dumervil and use the savings to pursue potentially cheaper free agents like former Indianapolis Colt Dwight Freeney.
