The Husker women’s basketball team finished one step shy of a Big Ten tournament championship in their inaugural season in the league. They fell to Purdue in a double-overtime thriller in the title game in Indianapolis last year. Nebraska’s quest for a conference tourney crown begins anew this afternoon, as the second-seeded Huskers face Iowa in second-round action. The seventh-seeded Hawkeyes played their way into Round 2 with a 60-55 win over Northwestern yesterday afternoon. The Huskers knocked off the Hawkeyes in both of their regular season meetings this season. The Big Red held on for a 76-75 win when the two met in Iowa City on February 11, and then routed the Hawkeyes 66-46 in the return game in Lincoln 13 days later. Today’s game tips off at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis at 11:30 AM.
