Kearney Woman Federally Indicted for Selling Meth with Her Children Present

A Kearney woman accused of dealing methamphetamine at the home she shared with her children has been charged in federal court, and her roommate faces multiple felonies.

Veronica Ring, 32, is charged in U.S. District Court in Omaha with possession with intent to deliver more than 1 ounce of methamphetamine on November 9 in Kearney.  She was arrested in January on a federal warrant.

Ring was initially charged in Buffalo County Court for distribution of meth after a warrant was served on her house by the Kearney Police Department (KPD).  The State charges were dismissed after charges were filed federally.

A warrant was served on Ring’s home after police received reports of possible drug activity at the residence.  During the search, officers found several safes which contained baggies of suspected meth in Ring’s bedroom.

Additionally, police confiscated pills that were filled with meth, $4,200 cash and marijuana.  The total seizure netted over 10 ounces of the meth.

Ring’s roommate, Sherri Burrows, was charged in County Court with possession of methamphetamine, conspiracy to distribute meth and distribution of  marijuana.

Both women were also charged with felony child abuse because Ring’s three children, ranging in age from 7 to 12, and Burrows 11 and 12-year-old children were residing in the house.

The children have been placed in the custody of the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.
