A 54-year-old Bertrand man has died following a fall.

Michael Streit died Saturday morning after falling about 10 feet and hitting his head on concrete according to Phelps County Attorney Timothy Hoeft.

Authorities say Streit was returning home accompanied by two friends when the accident occurred at around 3:15 a.m.  Hoeft said Streit’s friends immediately called 911.

A preliminary autopsy has been performed and Hoeft says no foul play is expected.  He declined to elaborate on the cause of death as they are awaiting the results of toxicology tests.

It may take several weeks for authorities to get the test results back.
