Broncos, Dumervil At Impasse; Freeney and Abraham to Visit Denver

The Denver Broncos may be looking to move on from the Elvis Dumervil fiasco. After cutting Dumervil last Friday when the details of his restructured contract did not arrive via fax machine on time, the Broncos returned to the negotiating table with the veteran defensive end. But Dumervil and his new agent Tom Condon are lukewarm on the Broncos’ proposal, which includes a pay cut and no guaranteed money after the first year of the deal. The Broncos won’t wait too long for Dumervil to make a decision judging by their plans for today. They are bringing in veteran pass rushers Dwight Freeney and John Abraham to meet with team officials and take physicals in Denver. Freeney and Abraham are both older than Dumervil, but the Broncos might be able to sign them for less money and free up some cap space.
