The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has announced new safety and security procedures for the County’s County and District Court rooms.
During an annual review of court room procedures, the Sheriff’s Office implemented changes to items allowed into the court rooms.
Effective April 1, 2013, no knives, tools, cameras, cell-phones, personal electronic devices, purses, backpacks, briefcases, beverages, food items, child carriers, baby bottles or sippy cups will be allowed in any court rooms. Medically required equipment will be allowed on a case-by-case basis.
Additionally, all subjects will be required to have one form of photo identification available for inspection.
There are no secure storage places available for items, and the Sheriff’s Office says they will not be responsible for items left outside of the cour room.
Officials highly recommends that citizens do not bring the restricted items into the Court House at all.
