An 18-year-old North Platte man is facing serious charges after he allegedly assaulted his girlfriend.

On March 26, Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a North Platte residence after speaking to a female who reported that she was the victim of an assault.

Deputies spoke with the victim who advised Deputies that her boyfriend, Justus Case, punched and strangled her until she lost consciousness.

The alleged assault occurred while the couple was parked in the parking lot at Dodge Hill, just south of North Platte.

The victim told deputies that after she regained consciousness, she was once again assaulted by Case, but managed to lock him out of the vehicle.

Case then jumped on the victim’s vehicle and shattered the windshield.  He then told the victim that he was going to “kill her.”  The victim was able to escape in the vehicle, leaving Case behind at the scene.

Later that evening, Deputies located Case at his grandparents house and placed him under arrest.  He was charged with Misdemeanor Domestic Assault, Criminal Mischief and Felony Strangulation.  He was then booked at the Lincoln County Detention Center.

The victim received treatment for her injuries at the Great Plains Regional Medical Center Emergency Room.

Authorities say the investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be filed against Case.
