Here are the highlights from Monday’s District Court Action:

 

-Chad Hall, 39, of Hershey was sentenced to 10 to 15 years in the Nebraska State Penitentiary by Judge Richard Birch.  Hall was found to be in possession of 21 long guns, including an assault weapon, as well as seven pistols and a flare gun.  The guns were located in a safe inside Hall’s residence.  Authorities also say they discovered that Hall had stolen jewelry and pawned it.

 

 

 

 

 

-The second of two men accused of robbing the Farmer’s State Bank in Wallace was sentenced.  Drew Steier, was sentenced to one and a half to three years in prison for his role in the botched robbery.  Steier entered the bank and brandished a fake gun, then demanded money.  Employees of the bank noticed the firearm was a fake, and refused to give Steier any money.  Steier told District Court Judge Donald Rowlands that he regretted what he had done, and was glad that no one was injured physically or psychologically. His cohort Tracy Black was also sentenced to one and a half to three years in prison.

 

 

 

 

 

-Jeffrey Denson, 21, entered a plea of not guilty to Possession of Marijuana and Robbery.  He is accused of robbing a residence at King’s Trailer Court in North Platte.  Denson is also charged with bringing marijuana into the Lincoln County Detention Center by hiding it in his rectal cavity.  A status hearing was set for May 20.
