An eight-member Nebraska team has designed its structure for an assault on the Guinness World Record for a Lincoln Log structure.

Three professionals from DLR Group and five University of Nebraska-Lincoln students are scheduled to begin their build at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Children’s Museum in Lincoln.

The team seeks two marks: the tallest Lincoln Log structure ever built, using a record number of Lincoln Logs. Not exactly child’s play with a children’s toy.

The team plan calls for a 12-foot-tall structure that requires 10,000 Lincoln Logs. The structure is supposed to resemble Nebraska’s state Capitol.

The current record was set in March 2010 by The Community House of Arts in Ottawa, Ill. The nearly 11-foot-tall structure required nearly 3,000 Lincoln Logs.
