Rockies Winning Streak Snapped By Giants

San Francisco’s AT&T Park continues to be a house of horrors for the Colorado Rockies. They saw their five-game win streak snapped with a 4-2 loss to the Giants in game one of their three game series. Hunter Pence’s three-run homer in the first got the Giants out to the early lead. It would be all the damage permitted by Rockies starter Jorge de la Rosa, who worked six otherwise solid innings, striking out six. The Rockies got one back on Carlos Gonzalez’s third homer of the year in the third, a titanic blow that reached McCovey Cove. Chris Nelson’s RBI single in the sixth made it a one-run game, but the Giants bullpen held firm. Game two of the series is tonight at AT&T Park. Juan Nicasio takes the mound for the Rockies. He’ll be opposed by Tim Lincecum for the Giants. First pitch is set for 9:15.
