injury-accidentAn accident sent a Lincoln County man to the hospital on Monday.

Deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident near mile marker 169 on Highway 30, about a half mile west of Front Road.

Upon arrival, they found a vehicle driven by 76-year-old Willis Wilson of Maywood that had rolled over and landed in the ditch.

Wilson was trapped inside, and North Platte Rescue crews had to extricate him from the vehicle.

Through their investigation, Deputies determined that Wilson had been driving Westbound, when he drove off the road to the north over corrected and ended up rolling once and coming to rest in the south ditch.

Wilson was transported to Great Plains Regional Medical Center, however, due to the seriousness of his injuries he was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney for further treatment.

Deputies believe that alcohol played a factor in the accident, and charges may be filed pending the results of a blood alcohol test.
