A Lincoln woman has been given four to five years in prison in connection with the death of a 12-year-old girl.

Twenty-four-year-old Ashley Jackson was sentenced Wednesday for the March 2012 overdose death of the girl, who was brought to Jackson’s home to babysit her infant twins.

Prosecutors say Jackson smoked methamphetamine and gave the girl and other people present alcohol and drugs. Police say Jackson left, and the girl was sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old man. She then died of a prescription drug overdose.

Jackson pleaded no contest to child abuse resulting in death in December. She was arrested in March on a warrant after she failed to show up for sentencing.
