United States Attorney Deborah R. Gilg announced that the Honorable John M. Gerrard, U.S. District Court Judge, sentenced Oscar Garcia, 28, to 57 months imprisonment, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release, and he was ordered to pay a $100 special assessment, following his conviction for distribution of methamphetamine. On three separate dates in June 2012, Garcia sold a total of 44 grams (a little less than 2 ounces) of 95% pure methamphetamine to a cooperating witness who was working with law enforcement in Grand Island.
The Central Nebraska Drug and Safe Streets Task Force was responsible for the investigation of this case.
