Nebraska’s wrestling program scored a recruiting coup on the first day of the spring signing period. Destin McCauley will join the program for the 2013-14 season. McCauley, who will wrestle at 149 pounds for the Big Red, won six state titles as a prep star in Minnesota before spending two years in the Olympic training program. He was a member of the Junior World team and won a junior national freestyle championship in 2012. McCauley is the fourth member of the Husker wrestling recruiting class of 2013.
“We’re excited for Destin and the future he has here at Nebraska,” Head Coach Mark Manning said. “He comes to us as a very accomplished high school wrestler as well as international (freestyle) competitor. We have a number of young men in our program that have high aspirations, and Destin wants to make history here at Nebraska.”
