For the first time since 2008, the Husker baseball team swept a road conference series. A 12-2 win at Purdue on Sunday afternoon gave the Big Red three wins in three over the Boilermakers in West Lafayette. Pat Kelly led the Husker hit parade with four of Nebraska’s 16 hits on the day. He also drove in a pair of runs, as did Mike Pritchard, who ran his hitting streak to 19 games. Kyle Kubat worked five innings on the mound for his second win in as many starts. The Huskers scored 32 runs and banged out 41 hits, while taking advantage of 10 Boilermaker errors in the series. Not only did the Huskers improve to 11-4 in Big Ten play, they also evened their overall record to 19-19. They’re back in action Tuesday night as they host Kansas State in their final non-conference home game of the season.
