A Gering man has been granted parole less than eight years after stomping to death a friend.
40-year-old Scott Kramer became eligible for parole this month. He’d pleaded no contest to manslaughter after prosecutors lowered the charge from second-degree murder. Kramer was sentenced on May 31, 2006, to 15 to 20 years in prison.
Kramer was convicted of kicking and jumping on 30-year-old Tim McGrath up to two dozen times. Cramer was wearing cowboy boots. Prosecutors said Cramer became enraged after the victim broke a videotape on Oct. 12, 2005, while they were drinking at Cramer’s apartment.
