A Lincoln man is accused of trying to attack his girlfriend and police officers with a knife.

Police say 32-year-old Pedro Renteria was arguing Thursday with his girlfriend over a set of car keys. An intoxicated Renteria swiped at her chest 10 times with a knife.

The knife did not cut the woman’s skin, but she received several punches to the head.

Police say Renteria tried to attack a responding officer with the knife, and an initial attempt to subdue him was unsuccessful. Renteria tried to slash another officer, and missed his chest by a few inches.

Renteria was eventually arrested. He faces several charges, including attempted first-degree domestic assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.

Court records do not list an attorney.
