A statue honoring two beloved St. Bernards has been found in Lincoln.
The statue owned by Donna Frye was spotted by her brother-in-law on Friday, just across the street from his home and about a mile from Frye’s residence. The 45-year-old concrete statue was stolen last week.
Frye said she and her husband bought the statue after her dog, Angel, died. She says it also memorialized their second St. Bernard, Brandy, who died in the mid-1990s.
She believes the thief or thieves read about the theft in the Journal Star, panicked, and then dropped off the statue near the home of the wrong Frye family.
