(AP) — Volunteers will serve an estimated 225 needy children during an annual dental health day in the Nebraska Panhandle.
The University of Nebraska Medical Center is hosting the event, which runs from 8 a.m. Friday through noon on Saturday in four towns. All children have been pre-screened for the event.
Volunteers in Sidney, Alliance, Chadron and Gordon will provide office space and assistance to visitors from the university’s College of Dentistry. Faculty and staff will provide teeth cleanings, sealants and fillings for the children.
The events will take place at the Box Butte General Hospital in Alliance, the Gordon Community Hospital, Summit Dental Group in Sidney, and the Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska Dental Clinic in Chadron.
